Aquaculture, the cultivation of marine species, is an emerging industry that can address issues such as overfishing and access to fresh seafood. However, some challenges need to be overcome before aquaculture can be successful and sustainable. This presentation will give an overview of aquaculture in the Northeastern US and discuss problems, solutions, and opportunities for growth, focusing on the role educators have in promoting sustainable seafood choices.
