Distinguished Speaker: Dr. Derek Muller - Veritasium

Throughout the 20th century and into the 21st, each new communications technology has been heralded as the tool to "revolutionize education". Needless to say, none of these revolutions have come to fruition. As an education researcher, video creator and teacher I have explored many facets of teaching, learning and technology. My conclusions are: there are evidenced-based better and worse ways to make educational video and to use technology more broadly. But there is also a good reason why technology has not revolutionized education, because teachers are fundamentally much more than information delivery devices.
