The LE and ES Triangle Challenge Is Back… And Virtual

  • 01 Dec 2020
  • 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM
  • Zoom Online

Presenter: Carol-Ann Winans

The original Earth Science Triangle puzzles were created by then Nassau Earth Science SAR, Ken Abbott, after attending a workshop by Rodelio Abuan at the 116th STANYS Annual Conference. Rodelio Abuan is an award-winning educator from Texas and the Philippines known for creating innovative science games to help his students review science terminology.

The Triangle Challenge is a Regents Review activity modeled after Abuan’s game called Tatsulok, which means three corners in Filipino. His games are available commercially at http://www.scienterrificgames.com. Melissa Torre, Ken Abbott, and Carol-Ann Winans all contributed to the template and the related Earth Science/Living Environment content. These puzzles have been converted into a digital format for this year! This session will share the original files and walk teachers through the process of making their own virtual triangle review games.
