The 2019 Evolution and Ecology Teacher Workshop, “The Sixth Mass Extinction: Faunal Responses to Anthropogenic Change”, is a professional-development opportunity for science teachers, especially those who teach biology and environmental science to middle and high school students. The workshop is presented by PhD-level State Museum scientists, including ornithologist Jeremy Kirchman, malacologist Denise Mayer, ichthyologist Jeremy Wright, and paleontologists Robert Feranec and Lisa Amati.

Teachers will earn 8 hours of continuing-education credit from the State Education Department. They will learn about scientific research happening here in New York State, including the latest information on genetics, the fossil record, evolution, and ecology. The workshop is aligned with NYS Learning Standards and the Regents Exam in The Living Environment. 

Registration Instructions: Please complete and return the application form by September 25, 2019. The workshop is limited to 30 participants. Payments will be held until minimum registration (20 participants) is reached.
