Using the New Visions Science Curriculum

Join us on Friday, November 1st from 8:30am - 3:30pm for a full day of professional learning with New Visions' free high school science instructional materials

The workshop location is the Rochester Riverview Hotel - the Genesee Suites.

Learn how the materials can support both current Regents exams as well as a shift to phenomena-driven three-dimensional instructional as envisioned in the NYSSLS. In this workshop we will:

  • Provide teachers, through a deep dive into a unit, with instructional routines that can be used across many units, including the following: Group Learning Routines, Literacy Routines, and Driving Question Boards.
  • Deepen participants understanding of the instructional model used in New Visions curriculum materials and ensure that participants can access curriculum resources on the NV Science Curriculum site.
  • Build a community of learners dedicated to improving science instruction and providing equal access for all students.

The immersive experiences from our curriculum in this workshop will come from our Living Environment and Earth Science materials, however Chemistry and Physics teachers are also welcome to attend. Participants will earn 6.0 hours of CTLE credit.

This one-day workshop will be facilitated by New Visions staff and experienced New Visions teacher leaders.
