Proposal Submission Guidelines

This page outlines a 3-step process that will prepare you to complete and submit an electronic proposal for the 117th Annual STANYS Conference, November 3rd to 6th, 2012 at the Rochester Conference Center.

Sorry, submissions are no longer being accepted.

Workshops are scheduled for Sunday starting at 9:30 am. Monday and Tuesday workshops begin at 8 am. If you foresee not being able to present on a particular day or time, please note this in the "Special Request" section of your proposal application.

STEP 1: In order to complete the proposal submission be prepared to:

• read and agree to the STANYS Safety Guidelines (pdf)

• cite the names and affiliations of any co-presenters

• give us a reliable email address

• write the title and complete description of your presentation (publication ready language please!)

• indicate how many people you will accommodate at your presentation

• identify the presentation as hands-on, lecture/demo, panel discussion, or poster session; limit non hands-on presentation to one hour.

• choose a primary target audience and a secondary audience (ex. Elem, Intermediate, HS, College, Retirees)

• choose a primary and secondary subject area (ex. Earth Sci, LE, STEM, Supervision)

• indicate if you require high speed Internet. STANYS does not provide A-V equipment. You may bring your own equipment. Screens and projectors may be rented by you from CMI.

• connect to a printer

STEP 2: If you are the 1st Presenter, you are responsible for making sure that your co-presenters are aware of the Safety Guidelines. You will be printing and mailing a page on which you certify, among other things, that you have read and understand the Safety Guidelines.

STEP 3: Please make sure you are prepared to proceed. Once you have submitted a proposal, you will not be able to go into the system again to make changes! Fill in the interactive proposal form completely. Print out the certification page when prompted to do so. Click "submit" at the end.
